I'm Luigi.
Ten years ago I didn't know what I was doing in a gym either. That's most of why I'm good at this.
I started my own fitness journey nearly a decade ago, and I remember the whole of it — walking in with no plan, copying whatever the person next to me was doing, going hard for three weeks and then quietly stopping. Most of my clients have lived some version of that. It's why I don't talk down to anyone about consistency. It isn't a character flaw. It's what happens when nobody gives you a structure.
In 2024 I stepped on stage as a natural bodybuilding competitor for the first time, and I coached myself to get there. That matters here for one reason only: I don't guess. I write programmes, I follow them for months at a time, and I've tested every principle I use on the most stubborn client I've ever had, which is me.
I'm as interested in the psychology as the physiology. Why people stick with things and why they don't is a more useful question than which exercise is optimal. Most of coaching isn't exercise selection — it's working out what's genuinely realistic for your week and building around that, instead of building for someone whose life you don't have. I read the research, I read the papers, and I'll happily tell you when the honest answer is "we don't know yet."
And I want you to enjoy it. Not in a shouty way — I'm not going to scream at you. But an hour that you dread is an hour you'll eventually cancel, and a programme you cancel doesn't work no matter how well it's written. My clients keep using the same two words in their reviews: challenging and fun. That's deliberate. It's also the only reason any of this lasts.
The end goal isn't that you need me forever. It's that you understand what you're doing well enough to walk into any gym, anywhere, and know exactly what today is. Confidence isn't a feeling I can give you — it's what happens on its own once you know what you're doing.
I train out of Anytime Fitness Tulse Hill. It's open 24 hours, which means your schedule is a logistics problem rather than a reason to not start.
